ABSTRACT: The bass interest of high school students in engineering courses is growing in Brazil. Moreover, a survey carried out at the Polytechnic School of the Universidad de São Paulo (USP) with students from the Civil Engineering course, about evasion in that course showed that students feel that there is excess basic subjects and less focused on practice they perceive as civil Engineering. In this light, it is necessary to take action to increase the interest of students in high school and beyond reduce evasion in engineering course. As well, this study reports the actions taken in the civil engineering course, through a practical class assembly of a sanitary unit made of recycled plastic by students of the construction technology discipline with the participation of students from a high school. It has been the model studied a partnership between a public university, the plastic bathroom manufacturer and a public school in the semiarid region of northeastern Brazil. The above was established in an agreement with the National Research Center – CNPq and Vale do Rio Doce company with the aim of carrying out analysis of the assembly process and disassembly of recycled plastic bathroom. This study used the technique of participant observation. The observations were the basis for preparing the assembly procedure and bathroom manual recycled plastic. It concludes by highlighting the difficulties at the time of bathroom assembly. From this study the company bathroom idealizing conducted tests on the prototype and modified the material of iron pillars for aluminum.
